Principals' Welcome
Welcome to Singapore American School’s Intermediate Division. We are also happily known as the “Land of the Geckos.”
We are pleased to have the opportunity to work with you this year and are excited to introduce you to the students, teachers, and programs.
The Intermediate Division is made up of approximately 760students originating from over 30 countries.
Our students are highly motivated and bring a wealth of culture, knowledge, and experience to our classrooms.
Intermediate students are creative, energetic, and involved, and their energy brings our school to life.
The teachers of the Intermediate Division are at the heart of our success. They come from all around the world and are highly trained and experienced. Many of our teachers have come to SAS after having worked in the United States and in other international schools. Intermediate teachers are dedicated to teaching to the whole child and they serve as wonderful role models for our students.
SAS offers some of the strongest academic programs available to students anywhere in the world. We teach more than the core of an American curriculum. Our goal is to teach our students the 5 R’s: reading, writing, arithmetic, respect and responsibility. Our curriculum is enhanced with quality programs in the areas of music; art; personal health, safety and fitness; technology; Mandarin, character education; and community service. We also provide a variety of in-school and after-school activities to meet the interests and needs of our students.
We trust this will be a valuable year at SAS and you will find the Intermediate Division to be a welcoming and exciting place to learn. Once again, we welcome you to Singapore American School.
